Big News and Updates

December 2025

Tuesday, December 2nd is "Giving Tuesday!" Giving Tuesday, is different from Black Friday and Cyber Monday as it is a day of giving to worthy causes. In the case of Pate Ministries, your giving will help to fund the work of the Gospel throughout the coming year. Your donations will help buy more Bibles to give away, supplies for the Bible clubs, supplies for all of our outreaches including the clinic, young mother’s project, and building supplies for the construction of the new ministry center. This is a wonderful way to partner with Pate Ministries in sharing the Gospel.

News:

  • Zelle: We are now signed up with Zelle to give donations direct from your bank to our ministry bank account. You can go to your online bank's Zelle page, enter our email Forthechildrenecuador@gmail.com or click the Zelle QR code on our "donations" tab. Note: sometimes the Zelle QR code does not work in the small format, but you can usually increase the size and it will work, but if not, you can always use the email address.
  • Rebecca Carrion: She has given a two year commitment to serve full time with Pate Ministries in the area of small group and one-on-one discipleship class in our church plant community, E-team, and youth. This is an area in which no one is doing this and it is greatly needed. She is in the process of raising her funding now, If you would like to help support Rebecca Carrion in her please message us for her contact address.

  • Bible Clubs: All Bible clubs will be closed the week of Christmas through New Year's.
  • Coastal Bible Clubs: We will share with all of our Bible clubs, the reason we celebrate Christmas, Jesus! We will also give out a small bag of toys with a craft for them to do at home. We will dress the children for a Nativity scene too.
  • Youth Bible Club: We will also celebrate the Christmas story with the youth.
  • Mountain Bible Clubs: We will visit the clubs with a short term mission team, the 2nd week of December to share the reason why we celebrate Christmas and give out small Christmas gifts.
  • Tuesday Community Evangelistic Outreach: Because the people will be expecting a Christmas gift, we anticipate close to 500 people in attendance for one of our Tuesday night. I won't say which Tuesday because they might see it and tell everyone. We do not mind giving a gift, just don't won't every community to come just to receive a gift, however, they will hear the Gospel before receiving a gift.
  • Sunday Bible Study/Worship Service: We are having about 35-50 people attend the services each week, not including the visiting teams.

Big News:

  • English as a Foreign Language Classes: Our English classes successfully wrapped up by the end and all received a certificate. They all wanted to know when the next classes would start again. Thank you Mike and Jeannie for offering these classes.

Bigger News:

  • Christmas on the Coast: We will be sharing that Jesus is the reason why we celebrate Christmas with a nativity pageant and giving out a small gift and special Christmas bread. The kids love it.
  • New Ministry Center Property: We have finished building up the foundation with 798 loads of dirt. The steel for the amphitheater has been delivered, a guard sleeping shack has been erected, and footers poured the 1st week of this month. In the 2nd week, the steel will be erected. Much of the construction will slow during January, but will ramp up again in February. We are so excited about the new facility.
  • Family in Ecuador for Christmas: We are so excited to have our daughter and her family joining us on the coast for Christmas this year. We are normally in the US with them, but it will be exciting to have them here with us.

Special Prayer Request:

  • Pray for the construction of our building.
  • Pray that God will send us additional national E-team members.
  • Pray for Andrés and Gary as they work on the property and make huge building decisions.
  • Pray for God to soften the hearts of the Montañita people to receive His Gospel.
  • Pray for the national house church leaders who continue the mountain Bible clubs.
  • Pray for our E-team as they travel home for Christmas.
  • Pray for Rebecca Carrion as she raises funds to come to Ecuador to serve full time for two years.
